You can't however create an asset "bin" for a movie project, the way you can in Adobe Premiere Elements 13. You can star-rate and keyword-tag any content items, which facilitates searching for them, but the search bar lets you find even content you haven't marked thus. The software can import 4K content, including in Sony's XAVC S format, but playback of this was very jerky in my testing, with the image frequently going still. As in Corel VideoStudio, a stop-motion tool eases making your own animated production, complete with shadow images to show you the last position of your animated object. The Studio Importer dialog lets you bring content in from not only file folders, but also from connected cameras and discs. Import and Organize The always-present Import link sits atop the program in Organize mode, next to its Export counterpart. A search bar in Edit mode acts upon whatever your content panel is currently showing-clips, transitions, sound effects. In the Effects Editor, it's easy to zoom and reposition video, but cropping and other positional changes require opening the 2D Effects option, which isn't very WYSIWYG, the way it is in CyberLink PowerDirector 13. It's a whole separate interface on its own, showing timecodes and a jog-and-shuttle control and audio-channel mixer. (You can just double-click the clip thumbnail for this, however.) The Effects Editor is a popup window in which you apply transitions, color correction, chroma keying, and video filters.
You can choose which buttons you want to display on the timeline toolbar, including things like Split, Add Marker, and Trim Mode, but there's no button for the important right-click option, Effects Editor.
